Praveen Sharma, BSNA President (2026-2028 Term)
Dear Fellow Brahmans,
Namaskar and Pranaam!
It is a profound honor to stand before you today, not just representing BSNA, but as a fellow traveler in our rich traditions and heritage.
Thank you Patrons, BOT, Senior Advisors and the Past EC for such a warm welcome. Also, thank you for doing such a good job in steering BSNA forward with streamlined infrastructure and growing membership. It will be our utmost endeavor to further progress on that path.
In a constantly changing world, Brahmins have a role to play by serving as a beacon to highlight the rich cultural, spiritual and intellectual heritage of the Hindu community.
With that in mind, BSNA is dedicated to Preserving, Protecting and Promoting the Brahminic values in North America.
BSNA has local chapters in all major metropolitan areas that regularly host cultural programs and festival celebrations among the Indian diaspora. Our local chapters are the vital grassroots link between our large North American members, Global GBC and the Brahman Samaj of India. We look for further strengthening this relationship by fostering active interaction and participation in national and international leaders.
Additionally, BSNA publishes Brahma Vani magazine annually with insightful articles, thought-provoking discussions, and community spotlights. The goal is to strengthen bonds and nurture a vibrant future rooted in our cherished heritage. I would urge you to further improve and empower Brahma Vani by actively contributing to it.
BSNA also organizes an annual convention that brings together professionals, academics and religious and social leaders over a weekend to present and share experiences and ideas together that can further enrich Hindus and Brahmins in particular. Many of you have graced us with your presence from all over North America and rest of the world in the past. This year we are planning to host this convention in early August in the San Francisco Bay Area. I would personally like to welcome all of you to join us for that.
Bridging the Diaspora and Bharat
BSNA is committed to staying connected to our roots. Our youth, though raised abroad, are increasingly keen to learn about our rituals, languages, and cultural heritage. We believe there is a massive opportunity for collaboration with the Brahman Samaj in India and the GBC.
We believe this can be achieved with:
Knowledge Exchange: We can leverage the global expertise of our members to support educational initiatives in India.
Cultural Preservation: Explore together how best to preserve our culture in India and abroad among the Indian Diaspora by documenting and sharing our rich literature and cultural heritage and applying it to the modern day challenges faced by our society.
Empowering the Next Generation
The future of our Samaj depends on empowering our youth with both modern education and traditional values. We must foster entrepreneurship and self reliance, encouraging them to be leaders who contribute to humanity.
A Call to Action
We have an experienced and mature BOT and the EC to take on new challenges Brahmins face here and in India. Let us rejuvenate our community and the youth through active engagement, joint educational, charitable and social projects and mutual support.
I am extremely encouraged by the new talented leaders of local chapters of BSNA. I would urge these leaders of the local chapters to work with BSNA EC, Senior Advisors and the GBC to contribute to their tireless work in fostering and nurturing the Indian traditions, local celebrations of our festivals and education and social upliftment in the US and in India.
BSNA stands with you. Let us move together, grow together, and shine together.
With thanks and warm regards,
Praveen Sharma
